Studio Arts for Kids

Corner House Studio offers fun, fine-art inspired classes, camps and events for artists ages 4-12. Our studio is a space to learn, experiment, and grow creatively.

Building Creative Confidence

Our #1 goal is to build creative confidence in our young artists—so that they can grow into independent thinkers with the gumption and skills to see their ideas through!

What the heck is creative confidence? It’s the ability to keep going even when you aren’t sure about what you’re doing. When something doesn’t work, creative confidence is what keeps us trying new ideas until we figure it out.

WHAT MAKES
CORNER HOUSE SPECIAL

Our program is focused on inspiring creativity and building confidence over following instructions and making things perfect.

Inspiring
creativity

We guide artists to use their creativity to make unique work based on their own ideas. Our instructors define the materials and a creative challenge for each session, but the rest is up to the artist to define and discover.

Building
Confidence

Our projects leave room for artists to choose their own colors, subject, composition, and more. When young people make their own creative choices they feel more successful completing their work, building confidence in their ability.

FOCUS ON
the Process

Feeling our emotions is part of the process of making art. Artists at Corner House Studio are encouraged to let go of perfection and work through their successes and challenges.

Meet your teacher

Hey there! I'm Ms. Jen. I've been around the block and back, and I know firsthand that art has some serious superpowers. It can bring people together and mend souls.

Oh, and just so you know, I've got a fancy B.F.A. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Those years of formal art training gave me a foundation that still shapes my creative process. It's like a secret toolkit that lets me fearlessly explore all different kinds of mediums and techniques.

Pretty neat huh?
