About Corner House Studio
Located in Oakland, CA, Corner House Studio is a hub of creative exploration for young artists. We offer art classes, camps, workshops, and art-themed birthday parties for children ages 4-10. Our mission is to inspire creativity, build creative confidence, and connect our community through creativity.

Visual Arts Skills: Basic drawing skills and a passion for the visual arts is necessary for this role.
Patient: While teaching experience is not required, having the patience of a saint will set you up for success.
Work Schedule
Our schedule requires availability during after-school hours (weekdays 3:00-6:30), weekends, and no-school days. During the school year, you can expect approximately 10-12 hours of work per week. During the summer months (June - August) we offer summer camp with up to 35 hours a week available.
Job Responsibilities
Greet Parents & Artists: warmly welcome families to the studio and direct students in getting prepared for their art classes and sessions.
Lead Engaging Art Lessons: explain the creative challenge of the day and demonstrate how to use materials. Support artists as they explore and experiment to create their artwork
Collaborate on Curriculum Development: attend teacher meetings and contribute to curriculum planning brainstorm sessions.
Studio Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and inspiring studio environment through miscellaneous cleaning and prep work.
Materials Preparation: Stretch paper, organize materials, cut canvas and more depending on the lessons planned for the week.
Supervise artists during break times: engage artists and facilitate creative play during breaks in the art making process.
Requirements
- Possess a genuine passion for art and working with kids.
- Be flexible and enthusiastic.
- B.F.A. or equivalent art expertise
