About Corner House Studio
Located in Oakland, CA, Corner House Studio is a hub of creative exploration for young artists. We offer art classes, camps, workshops, and art-themed birthday parties for children ages 4-12. Work Schedule
This is a part time position requiring 20 hours of work a week. During the school year our schedule requires afternoon availability (Tuesday - Friday 2:00-6:00) and Saturdays 8am-12pm. During the summer months (June - July) hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 - 3:15 pm.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee Day-to-Day Operations: Take on a leadership role ensuring smooth studio operations and maintenance.
Provide Customer Service: Act as a liaison between staff and families, addressing issues as they arise in a kind and professional manner.
Manage Teachers and Studio Assistants: Mentor and guide studio employees to foster teamwork and success.
Help with Sales and Marketing: Communicate upcoming programs with parents and occasionally attend community events to promote our offerings.
Maintain Studio & Supplies: Identify studio needs, maintain equipment, and keep inventory of supplies. Assist with light cleaning and prep work to maintain a clean and inspiring studio environment.
Collaborate on Curriculum: Attend monthly staff meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and brainstorm sessions.
Occasionally Oversee Classes and Parties: Ensure a safe, fun, and educational experience for kids ages 4-11 during classes and parties.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in a childhood education or care setting.
- Experience in customer service or community engagement for at least two (2) years.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities with flexibility and adaptability.
- Proficiency in Google office applications
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of child development principles and educational best practices.
